Tom has spoken at numerous schools and companies in the UK since 2001 about his climbing exploits. He is currently giving an inspirational account of his successful climb on the SE Ridge on Everest, where he and his brother became the first British brothers to stand on the summit together. He recalls how his team pulled together in this wild and hostile environment; the feelings when they heard that three Sherpas had been killed in the notoriously treacherous icefall above basecamp; how four members returned from the summit with serious frostbite in bitterly cold temperatures; and the huge emotions he felt to finally stand on top of the world! The lecture includes slides and video footage. He speaks with enormous passion and enthusiasm, not just on the climbing but also about the remote Sherpa people living in this harsh environment high in the hills. He tells a fascinating story.
